Addy Hall and Scott Henderson showcased their exceptional teamwork and trust at the San Antonio Super Sort by clinching the victory in the Professional’s Choice #9 Gold Shootout. The duo sorted 17 head in 150.97 seconds over three rounds, earning a well-deserved prize of $7,092.

Hailing from Speyton, Texas, Hall and Henderson, who comes from Caldwell, Texas, implemented a simple yet effective strategy that played to their strengths in the sorting pen. Hall skillfully managed the herd while Henderson expertly handled the gate, ensuring a smooth and efficient performance throughout each round.

“She’s excellent in the herd,” Henderson praised Hall’s skills. “And I’m okay in the gate, so we just ranch handed it.”

For Hall, this win signifies a significant milestone in her journey within the sport.

“Achieving this victory holds great importance for me as it has boosted my confidence as a rider, helping me believe in myself and my abilities,” she shared. “It has also taught me to trust in my partner, my horse, and myself.”

Hall also commended Henderson’s consistent presence in the pen, which greatly contributed to their successful run.

“Riding with Scott was an incredible experience,” Hall expressed. “I felt very confident with him in the gate and enjoyed being on his team. He was always supportive and encouraging, making him a fantastic partner. I look forward to riding together again in the future and hopefully securing more wins.”

Hall rode her grandfather’s horse, Tuff Little Dottie (Woody Be Tuff x Smart Spare Tari), affectionately known as “Dottie” in the sorting community. The reliable mare has built a reputation for her natural talent with cattle.

“She is an exceptional sorting horse and handles cattle with finesse,” Hall praised Dottie. “She always gives her best during rides and is an all-around amazing horse. I particularly appreciate her smooth sorting style. Once in the herd, she follows instructions precisely and consistently delivers.”

Henderson partnered with the seasoned 2015 mare Some Like The Reyn (Dual Smart Rey x Some Like It Hott), a proven asset that contributed to the team’s steady performance.

This victory also marks a successful comeback for Henderson in ranch sorting after a brief hiatus from competition.

“I simply missed it,” Henderson admitted. “I missed the camaraderie, riding excellent horses, and all the excitement that comes with it.”
