Step inside my cozy living room! Welcome to my charming 1950s apartment in Los Feliz. I chose this place because it’s affordable, centrally located, and full of character. The current state of the living room is a bit lackluster, but I have big plans to transform it into something amazing. Get ready for a fun living room DIY project! Some of the issues we’re facing with the space include:

This living room is the first thing you see when you enter, and it needs a makeover. The white rug I initially got is now looking worn out, and it doesn’t quite fit the space. We have a mishmash of hand-me-down furniture pieces (except for the vintage piano), so a well-thought-out design plan is essential.

I experimented with rearranging the furniture layout but decided to stick with the original setup. Moving large pieces of furniture around is always an adventure!

As a renter, the space currently feels dull and uninspiring, so I’m on a mission to add warmth and personality. Since we often host movie nights, we need plenty of seating. Here’s the plan to address the current challenges and bring new life to the room:

I’m planning a DIY media center for the TV wall to create a cozy atmosphere and provide a display space for special trinkets. For the rest of the room, I’ve selected some fabulous pieces from AllModern that perfectly align with my vision. Let me introduce you to them…

Coffee Table: This stunning marble coffee table set the tone for the entire room. Its maroon stone with cream veining complements the space’s color palette and adds a touch of elegance. Plus, it ties in with the deep maroon of my closet speakeasy, creating a cohesive look.

Rug: I opted for a darker, more textured rug to replace the worn-out one. The deep brown red hue adds warmth to the room and complements the coffee table beautifully. Dark rugs may require more maintenance, but they’re worth it for the cozy vibe they bring.

Sofa: I fell in love with this modular sofa that fits perfectly through my front door. Its rounded edges and stylish design captured my attention, and the positive reviews sealed the deal. I can’t wait to see it in the room!

Table Lamps: Since we lack overhead lighting, I’m on the hunt for stylish lamps to brighten up the room. I plan to place a black metal lamp next to the sofa and a smaller lamp on the bookcase to create a cozy ambiance.
