Chonky Pets

A Malaysian vet has issued a warning about the dangers of pet obesity, despite the trend of chonky pets being considered cute. Dr. Tan from PetCare Clinic stressed the importance of maintaining a healthy weight for pets to prevent various health issues.

“Many pet owners mistakenly believe that a chubby pet is a healthy pet, but this is far from the truth. Just like in humans, obesity in pets can lead to a range of health problems such as diabetes, joint pain, and heart disease,” Dr. Tan explained.

He advised pet owners to monitor their pets’ diet and ensure they are getting enough exercise to prevent them from becoming overweight. “It’s important to consult with your vet to determine the right type and amount of food for your pet based on their breed, age, and activity level,” he added.

Dr. Tan also highlighted the importance of regular check-ups to monitor your pet’s weight and overall health. “By keeping your pet at a healthy weight, you can help them live a longer and happier life,” he said.

So, while chonky pets may look adorable, it’s essential to prioritize their health and well-being above aesthetics. Let’s keep our furry friends healthy and active!
