I am thrilled to share the updated look of our half bathroom with you! We initially redesigned this space 5 years ago, and while I still adored the design, some aspects were no longer functional. So, I took the opportunity to give it a little refresh and infuse a vintage-inspired vibe in collaboration with Lowe’s.

THE BEFORE OF OUR HALF BATH
Here is a glimpse of how it looked before. The main issues we encountered were with the faucet and vanity.

We faced challenges with the faucet due to hard water, causing corrosion and difficulty in use. The water flow was inadequate, and turning the handles was a struggle. The vanity, a $30 find that was refinished, started to deteriorate over time, necessitating its replacement.

After searching for a suitable replacement, I found a sturdy oak dresser for $75, which was more durable than the previous vanity. I applied my favorite dark walnut gel stain to enhance its appearance.

To enhance durability, I opted for a stone top for the new vanity, choosing a beautiful remnant piece of Mont Blanc quartzite from a local stoneyard. Shopping for remnants allowed me to achieve a designer look on a budget, elevating the vintage dresser’s appearance.

Adjustments were required to accommodate the plumbing in the vanity, requiring some DIY work and the use of an oscillating multi-tool. Despite the challenges, we managed to retain the functionality of the drawers.

With the vanity set, it was time to add the finishing touches and bring it all together.
OUR COZY VINTAGE HALF BATHROOM
Most of the items used in this bathroom were sourced from Lowe’s, our trusted DIY tools and supplies provider. I discovered an array of home decor options at Lowe’s that perfectly complemented the vintage-inspired theme of the bathroom. The centerpiece of the refresh was a stunning vintage-inspired faucet, setting the tone for the entire makeover.

The faucet, with its elegant brass finish and graceful curves, exudes a high-end aesthetic while remaining budget-friendly. Pairing it with a vessel sink with rounded edges added a unique touch to the vanity.
To complete the vanity, I found exquisite hardware at Lowe’s, which boasts a vast selection both in-store and online. The aged brass knobs and handles I selected perfectly complemented the dark walnut stain, creating a harmonious blend.

To enhance the ambiance, I opted for softer, vintage-inspired brass mini pendants with frosted glass shades, which made a significant impact on the overall look of the bathroom.

To tie everything together, I selected a towel hook and toilet paper holder in the same brass finish to complement the faucet. Additionally, I opted for wooden switch plate covers stained to match the vanity, providing a cohesive look with a touch of warmth.

To add a vintage touch, I incorporated an antique arched wood mirror and created a charming gallery wall using thrifted frames and artwork. With the addition of hydrangeas and dried florals, the space was transformed into a cozy retreat.
