Color has always been my passion. Hi, I’m Arlyn, and if you’re familiar with my work, you know that color is my thing. Today, I have the pleasure of sharing my thoughts on the current and future color trends in 2025. Welcome to our 2025 Color Trends post.
Last week, our team discussed the 2025 Pinterest Palette, which is based on the increased searches and interactions on the platform. Some of those colors are mentioned here (spoiler alert: butter yellow is the color right now), while others are not. Although purple is trending, I didn’t feel it was significant enough to feature here.
Earlier this year, I highlighted three colors that I believed were gaining popularity, and some of them are still going strong. I wrote about orange, primary colors, and brown. Spoiler alert: I was right about brown (and red, but that’s a given).
So, let’s delve into the top five prominent colors that are likely to find their way into your homes in various forms.
Chocolate & Truffle Browns
Out of the five shades we’ll be discussing today, brown is undeniable. It has made a surprising comeback, transitioning from a dull and heavy color to a luxurious and powerful choice. Dark chocolate browns with red undertones are also in trend. Who would have thought?

All The Reds
Like brown, red is a dominant force in color trends this year. From primary red to deep burgundies and various shades of pink, red is making its presence known in interiors.
Sky Blue
Sky blue is making a statement this year, offering a brighter and clearer alternative to the muted blues of the past. This refreshing shade is perfect for adding a touch of happiness to any space.
Buttery Yellow
Butter yellow has sneaked its way into the spotlight, particularly in kitchens. This warm and inviting color is reminiscent of a cozy and nostalgic feel, making it a popular choice for cabinets and furnishings.
Grass Green
Grass green, or “Dill Green,” is a warm-toned green that brings drama and natural elements to a space. This vibrant shade is perfect for adding a pop of color and energy to any room.
