Borges Carries Winning Momentum Into Las Vegas
At Bosque Ranch, the 2026 The Run For A Million Qualifier came down to one run—and Gabriel Borges delivered, marking a 230 to secure his ticket to Las Vegas. Borges’ victory closed out the final spots in one of reining’s most exclusive lineups.

Borges’ win continues his impressive rise in the reining world over the past year. Having crossed the $1 million rider mark and finishing as reserve champion at the NRHA Level 4 Futurity, he has remained a consistent threat in top-level competition.
His qualifier victory was achieved aboard Spooks Gotta Ice, a horse that has emerged as a major contender. The duo previously secured the 100X Tulsa Reining Classic 4-Year-Old Stakes title in 2025.
With another significant win under his belt, Borges heads back to Las Vegas for a second shot at the main event.
Proven Contenders Close Behind
Coming in tied for second were Francesco Martinotti and Martin Muehlstaetter, each marking a 228.5. Martinotti rode Smoking Trash, a horse with extensive experience at the sport’s highest levels and over $149,000 in lifetime earnings. Muehlstaetter, on Smoky Mountain Rein, adds another seasoned contender to the field, having earned multiple titles in Non Pro competition.
