This week, we’ve had the pleasure of hearing pet stories from all over the world, ranging from a Labrador enjoying a beautiful sunset to a dog who insisted on getting a second pup cup from his preferred brand.
Dogs and cats have been capturing viral attention with their adorable antics, and our readers have been sharing their favorite pictures and videos of their pets.
Every week, Newsweek features a Pet of the Week, showcasing our favorite pet videos and pictures submitted by readers.
If you’d like your pet to be featured in next week’s lineup, be sure to follow the instructions at the end of this article to participate.
Winner

Sherry Owens
The Pet of the Week winner is Tenaya, a 4-year-old goldendoodle who adores going to the local bank with her owner.
Residing in Running Springs, California, with Sherry Owens, Tenaya is a frequent visitor to the small bank.
“The four girls working there adore her and always give her a cookie,” Owens shared with Newsweek. “Two of them even come out to give her hugs when it’s not too busy.”
When Tenaya isn’t accompanying her owner to the bank, she enjoys kayaking on Lake Arrowhead and going on long car rides.
“She has been a source of comfort to several of our friends’ rescue dogs who were previously abused and fearful,” Owens added. “After spending time with Tenaya, they become happy and relaxed, joining us on walks and hikes. The bond between her and I is truly special—she’s my best friend.”
Finalists

Mariah Spinelli
Our first finalist this week is the adorable Voodoo, a kitten caught napping in an unexpected spot.
Voodoo, captured by owner Mariah Spinelli from Indiana, was photographed snoozing in a slipper.
“She used to do this all the time when she was smaller,” Spinelli told Newsweek.

Frank Talmadge
Our next finalist is Beanie, a 3-year-old rescue cat living with Frank Talmadge in Washington.
“Beanie’s standout feature is his amazing markings,” Talmadge shared with Newsweek. “But his personality is my favorite thing about him.”
Despite a difficult start in life where he was mistreated by previous owners, Beanie is now a cherished family pet who receives love and care from his owners.

Sunrit
Lastly, we have Chhotu, a well-traveled cat residing with Sunrit in Alberta, Canada.
“Chhotu made a journey from Kolkata, India, to Medicine Hat, Canada, enduring two plane rides and a car journey totaling 24 hours,” Sunrit revealed to Newsweek.
Originally found abandoned in the parking lot of their apartment building at just 2 months old, Chhotu was adopted and has become a friendly, playful, and cuddly companion who loves curling up in bed with his owners.
