During my recent trip to the mall at Pioneer Square, I set out to find some affordable summer outfits and play clothes. Instead, I ended up trying on almost everything in the store across various categories, including summer office attire. I don’t bother taking photos of items that don’t work for me, as it’s a waste of time and can lead to negative self-talk. So, what you see here are the pieces that I truly love and believe meet my criteria. Just to give you an idea, I have an apple-shaped body (larger bust, smaller hips/legs) and currently wear a size 4. I’ll mention the sizes I tried on because the sizing in stores these days is quite inconsistent, making it challenging to shop online without trying on first.

Jean Jacket Size XS | Blouse Size S | Striped Pants Size S | Mules
A lightweight denim chore jacket caught my eye, and I absolutely loved it. However, what stole the show were the striped linen pants. After trying on several wide-leg linen pants, this particular pair stood out to me for its flattering drape and versatile style. The cream and grey stripe is both chic and casual, making it a perfect choice for various occasions.

Top (+ similar) Size S | Shorts (similar) Size S | Mules
The matching set I tried on was incredibly cute and versatile, suitable for various occasions like park hangouts or casual shopping. The boxy top and well-fitting shorts made this set a must-have for summer. The yellow and white stripe adds a trendy touch without breaking the bank, making it a perfect affordable summer outfit.

Blazer Size S | Blouse (+ similar) Size S | Shorts Size 4 | Mules
If I had an office job, I would definitely consider this linen summer suit. It exudes a high-end look while being surprisingly affordable. The blouse, although not a perfect fit, complements the suit well with its lightweight and easy-to-wear design.

Blazer Size XS | Top Size S | Skort Size 4 | Mules
Another favorite of mine is the navy blue shorts paired with a crisp white blazer. The formal yet stylish shorts can easily transition from work to play, while the linen blouse with ruffled sleeves adds a touch of elegance to the outfit.

Shacket Size S | Pants Size 4 | Mules
Although I’m not a frequent white denim wearer, I couldn’t resist the charm of the cream shacket paired with the button and pocket detail. The high-waisted jeans, although not my style, are a great choice for those who prefer straight-legged denim.

Shacket Size S | Top Size S | Shorts Size S | Mules
Here’s the white denim shirt worn as a shacket with pull-on linen shorts. The comfortable linen shorts with a slight flare are a personal favorite, offering both style and comfort.

Shacket Size S | Top Size S | Shorts Size 4 | Mules
I also tried on shorts with a tie at the top, which, although not my typical style, were well-received by my team. These shorts pair nicely with a tucked-in tank top for a chic look.

Button Up Size XS | Shorts Size S | Mules
Lastly, I tried on a pair of baggier jean shorts with a drawstring/elastic waist for a comfortable and casual summer look. The linen shirt, with its breathable fabric and flattering stripe pattern, can be dressed up or down effortlessly.
For more affordable summer outfits and clothes, where should I go next? I might explore Old Navy, as Mango didn’t quite meet my expectations. If any of the items featured here are sold out online, it’s worth checking your local H&M store.
