I am beyond excited to share with you a project that is very close to my heart. This is the home of my best friends, Nicole and Curtis, in Portland. As soon as I saw this house, I knew I had to be a part of decorating it. The house is a traditional colonial from the 1930s, but we wanted to give it a more edgy and youthful vibe, similar to the Soho House style. Nicole and Curtis are creative executives with impeccable taste, so I knew we could take some risks with the design.
This project was a labor of love that we worked on over the course of a year. I handled the furniture, rugs, and decor, while our friend Max Humphrey assisted with the window treatments. The result is a cohesive yet distinct look in each room, with a perfect balance of style and function.
The Living Room (Also Used as a TV/Family Room)

Wallpaper | Trim Color | Sconce
The living room needed to serve as both a formal living space and a TV room. We placed the TV above the fireplace and created a cozy seating arrangement with a sofa, loveseat, and a vintage chair. The room exudes warmth and balance, with a mix of textures and colors that create a welcoming atmosphere.

Chair (vintage) | Pillow

Blue Sofa | Striped Velvet Pillow | Loveseat | Coffee Table | Rug
The sofa from Sarah Sherman Samuel Atelier is the focal point of the room, with its beautiful blue velvet upholstery. The coffee tables from Soho Home add a touch of luxury, while the green suede rug adds warmth and durability to the space. The room is a perfect blend of comfort and style, ideal for relaxing and entertaining.

The ceiling fixture from Urban Electric adds a touch of elegance to the room, providing ample lighting in a stylish way. The green suede rug is not only beautiful but also practical, making it ideal for high-traffic areas. The room is a perfect blend of comfort, style, and functionality.

The rust velvet loveseat provides a cozy spot for one of the girls to relax and watch TV. The brass spotlights add a touch of glamour to the room, while the arched hutch from Lulu and Georgia anchors the space and complements the dark trim beautifully.

The room features a vintage dresser, a stunning photograph, and a mix of textures and colors that create a unique and inviting space. The room is a perfect reflection of Nicole and Curtis’s style, with a touch of elegance and personality.

The room is filled with unique pieces that reflect Nicole and Curtis’s style and personality. From the vintage painting to the elegant lamp, every detail adds to the overall charm of the space. The room is a perfect blend of comfort, style, and functionality, creating a welcoming and cozy atmosphere.
