Liquid blush is not usually my go-to (I prefer cream), but Morphe’s cute little Hot Shot Blush Drops were too tempting to resist. Maybe it was the compact, ergonomic packaging that drew me in (very aesthetically pleasing), but it was the formula that kept me hooked. Here’s why this blush won me over and gave me plump, “Hot Girl Summer” cheeks in no time.
The Advantages of This Liquid Blush
Morphe’s Blush Drops are water-based, lightweight on the skin, and didn’t cause any breakouts. They have a subtle pearlescent finish that beautifully catches the light on the cheeks. One of the best features of the formula is its ability to hydrate the skin for up to eight hours, thanks to an advanced moisture complex with sodium PCA, sodium hyaluronate, and urea. Even when my skin was slightly dry, this blush remained smooth and didn’t look patchy, which I really appreciate.
Another great advantage is the buildable nature of this liquid blush. It layers well and intensifies in color when reapplied, making it perfect for transitioning from a subtle daytime look to a bold evening style. With five shades available, ranging from watermelon red to soft apricot, there’s something for everyone. Morphe also introduced Bronzer Drops (available in six shades) alongside the blush, which pair well together if you’re a fan of liquid bronzer.
Key Ingredients
Natural algae, niacinamide, glycerin, vitamins B5 and E, and sodium hyaluronate
How to Use Them
A little goes a long way with this blush, as you’ll discover upon your first application. I like to dispense a small dot onto the back of my hand, blend it in, and then use a brush to apply it to my skin. This method allows for better control over the amount of product used. While squeezing the applicator directly onto your cheek may result in excess product, it could be the desired effect you’re going for. The formula is easily buildable, making it simple to achieve a more intense look if desired. Don’t forget to shake it before use as well.
You can also mix a drop of the blush into your moisturizer for a subtle flush of color, according to Morphe. Additionally, topping the Blush Drops with powder blush can enhance the intensity of the finish.
