I attempted to sneak into the Nordstrom Anniversary sale early to try on some items for you, but it was chaotic, and I didn’t have a card. I ran into The Daily Tay – I didn’t realize she lived in the PNW!! – and got distracted. So, I browsed through the items on sale, but I was more drawn to the pricier items that were now discounted. Instead, I opted for some pretty cute and mostly affordable pieces. Here are a few that I found, and I also put together a list of the sale items that caught my eye. Also, you’ll notice a lot of scarves on my head – it’s my current thing…

This dress is a solid 9/10. It’s comfortable, drapey, and versatile for various occasions. It features pockets and a loose waist that remains flattering due to the oversized sleeves. The pattern is cute but not overwhelming. The only drawback is that it requires a bra with wide straps or being comfortable showing off your bra strap. Personally, I found that sizing up worked well for me as it draped nicely, while sizing down might have resulted in an unflattering fit. Overall, it’s a versatile and easy-to-wear dress that I hope comes in more subtle patterns in the future.

This ensemble is a new style for me, which I find trendy and undeniably cute. The linen set is quite affordable (the skirt is $55 and the top is $75, sold separately). As someone who is self-conscious about my arms and shoulders, I rarely wear tank tops, but I found this cut to be more flattering due to its design. It exudes a preppy and adorable vibe, making it suitable for various occasions. While I’m unsure if I’ll wear it enough to justify keeping it, I believe it’s perfect for office settings or client meetings during the summer. The linen material is thick yet wrinkle-resistant, and the skirt is flattering on its own. I’m wearing a small in both pieces. I’m particularly fond of these jellies – they elongate my feet and legs and are incredibly comfortable. I recommend sizing up; I usually wear a size 7 shoe but opted for size 8 in this case.

I was undecided about keeping this outfit, but after seeing these photos, I’m quite enamored with it. The drapey top is flattering and easy to wear, while the tailored shorts strike a balance between style and comfort. The open back of the shorts is my only concern, but my team suggested not wearing a bra and trying bra alternatives. I’m considering doing a review of these bra alternatives for larger ladies. The jellies are fantastic, and I think the head scarves and aviators complement the outfit well. I’m also trying to minimize hair damage by opting for head scarves instead of styling my hair too much.
