I believe most of us can relate to the fact that the internet often lacks content showcasing the less-than-perfect yet crucial aspects that influence our design choices. It wasn’t until we experienced a couple of winters in our current location that I truly understood the significance of having evergreen plants. The gray, wet, and dark winter months made me realize that relying solely on perennials, with their showy flowers and wild appearance, was not enough to liven up our yard during the winter. When Dennis’ 7 Dees revamped our sports court and added new landscaping, we made sure to include greenery that would provide year-round beauty. While I was hesitant to part with some of my favorite plants for the sake of variety, I trusted their expertise. It wasn’t until January that I saw the final result, and I was relieved to see how beautiful it turned out. Although it may not be as photogenic as it is in the summer or styled to perfection, I hope this glimpse into our winter yard can help you feel understood if you’re facing a similar situation.
Summer 2025:

Our first summer after the landscaping update was truly spectacular, and we are eagerly anticipating the second one. Surprisingly, there were elements that I never thought would capture my heart, such as the stunning hydrangeas. However, with an abundance of flowering bushes, I wondered how our yard would look come February.
Here We Are Today, Winter 2026:

Despite the bare bushes and trees, the presence of greenery still manages to bring joy. The maintenance provided by Dennis’ 7 Dees ensures that our yard remains healthy and visually appealing throughout the year.
