I have to admit, this might just be my favorite project I’ve ever done. Before I reveal everything, let me take you back to how it all started. The coat closet in the middle of my living room and dining room was nothing special – just your average closet filled with coats, ladders, and extra supplies. While it was functional, it wasn’t entirely necessary since we had other storage options. But I had a problem – our tiny kitchen had no space for barware and alcohol bottles, which made hosting a challenge.

During the pandemic, I picked up the hobby of crafting cocktails and loved hosting friends for drinks. But storing a full bar in my small kitchen was impossible. That’s when the idea of turning the coat closet into a speakeasy struck me. And that’s exactly what I did.

The process of creating the speakeasy was challenging but rewarding. I removed the closet door to open up the space and installed patent leather fabric on the walls to give it a luxurious look. Adding LED light strips and acrylic shelves made a huge difference in the ambiance.

The mirrored backsplash, ceiling tiles, and wood cocktail glass holder added the perfect finishing touches. And of course, a burlwood cabinet and wine fridge were essential additions to complete the speakeasy vibe.

Despite the challenges, the end result was worth it. The speakeasy now stands as a unique and stylish addition to my home. The transformation was captured in a series of Instagram posts, showcasing the process from start to finish.

Thank you for following along on this journey. If you want to see more behind-the-scenes details, head over to my Instagram. Feel free to share your thoughts on the lamp choice and whether the door should be on or off!
