After losing her beloved English Bulldog, Jen Berger found solace in the world of Instagram bulldogs.

“I would look at bulldogs all day to make me happy,” she shares with PEOPLE, “just to lift my spirits.”

After adopting her new English Bulldog, Eggnog, Jen created the Instagram account @EggnogtheBulldog to spread joy.

“Now that I have this bundle of joy, let’s make others smile,” says Berger, 42. A post featuring her dog’s elaborate house gained viral attention.

Reflecting on the unexpected fame, Berger recalls, “It was surreal to see something I did for her getting global recognition.”

Berger, now a full-time Influencer in Stormville, New York, shares the daily adventures of Eggnog, now 8, and her younger sister, Igloo, who is almost 7.

She reveals that her dogs enjoy dressing up, cuddling, snacking, gazing out the window, and going for short walks.

“They’re like little watermelons on legs,” she humorously describes.

She affectionately refers to her dogs as little old men.

“They drool, burp, and fart,” Berger chuckles. “They’re like little meatballs.”
