The PEDIGREE brand is proud to present the return of PEOPLE’s World’s Cutest Rescue Dog Contest, open for submissions from June 20 to July 31. The contest, now in its seventh year, is searching for the next adorable rescue dog to follow in the pawprints of past winners like Hobie, the 2023 champion. Dog owners can submit their beloved rescue pups along with their adoption stories on people.com/rescuedog contest to be considered for the grand prize.
Submissions will be accepted until July 31, after which PEOPLE editors will select 10 finalists for readers to vote on. The top three dogs will then be chosen by hosts from “The Talk” and judges from PEOPLE and the PEDIGREE brand. The winning dog will receive a photo shoot, a feature in PEOPLE Magazine, a year’s supply of PEDIGREE dog food, and a $1,000 donation to the animal rescue organization of their choice.
Last year’s winner, Hobie, a one-eyed terrier mix, chose to donate his prize to PUP Laguna Beach, the shelter that helped him find his forever home. Before winning the contest, Hobie regularly visited the shelter to donate supplies and spend time with the staff and animals, including his best friend, a resident rabbit.
