I have been a devoted admirer of Brooks Burns’ artwork for several years now, ever since I stumbled upon it on Instagram. I have consistently shown my appreciation by liking every painting he shares. Despite my eagerness to incorporate his work into my projects, the constraints of tight deadlines and the distance factor made it seem like a risky endeavor. However, when I came across this particular painting with its captivating colors, I couldn’t resist reaching out to him. My message expressing my enthusiasm led to a deal being struck, and just 10 days later, the masterpiece arrived at my doorstep, exceeding all expectations.
Having contemporary art adorning my home is a privilege I do not take lightly. I firmly believe that investing in art is what truly elevates the aesthetic appeal of any living space. While there are plenty of affordable furniture options available, it’s the art pieces that add character and intrigue to a home.
Upon receiving the painting, I was enamored by its powerful yet whimsical essence, resonating with the bold lines and colors that define my personal style. However, finding the perfect spot for it within my home proved to be a delightful challenge. I explored various locations, each offering its unique ambiance and visual impact.
The Dining Nook

While the painting looked stunning in every setting, some locations enhanced its beauty and presence. The dining nook proved to be the ideal spot, perfectly complementing the scale and shape of the artwork. However, the lack of natural light in the space detracted from its vibrancy, requiring additional illumination to truly make it shine.

Over The Fireplace

Placing the painting over the fireplace, despite the initial skepticism, turned out to be a visually striking decision. It commands attention, contrasts beautifully with the white surroundings, and harmonizes flawlessly with the room’s color palette. The cohesive look of the room, accentuated by the lighter furniture, underscores the importance of thoughtful design choices.

Although visually appealing in photographs, the lack of natural light in this area hindered the painting’s full impact. Considering the option of adding a spotlight or picture light to enhance its visibility is a tempting proposition that could potentially elevate its presence.
First Landing

While often overlooked, the first landing area receives significant foot traffic and serves as a prominent focal point in the home. However, the side lighting in this space posed a challenge in fully appreciating the painting, possibly due to its reflective nature.

Although the painting aesthetically blended with the surroundings, the viewing experience from the living room felt somewhat lacking. The presence of a chair nearby added a cozy touch, but the overall ambiance didn’t align with the desired effect.
