We are all about denim here. While we appreciate other clothing options like dresses and skirts, denim is our go-to choice most of the time. Recently, we decided to explore the barrel jean trend and see how each of us liked it. However, Emily had a better idea – she generously offered to pay for a pair of jeans that we absolutely loved (up to $140, with anything over that amount coming out of our own pockets). Needless to say, we were thrilled and grateful for this opportunity. Some of us tried on jeans we already owned that are still available, while others tested out brand new styles. We were excited to try out some fresh looks. Check out what we chose to wear:

Skinny jeans seem to be making a comeback, but only with certain types of boots at a specific height. While the barrel jean trend peaked last year, they are still popular because they are more flattering than baggy jeans. Personally, I usually prefer skinny jeans, but I’ve grown accustomed to the freedom of movement that comes with drop-crotch styles. I purchased these Madewell jeans towards the end of last year and was pleasantly surprised by how well they fit. While not all Madewell jeans work for me, this pair was a winner. They are mid-rise, which suits my short torso and curvy frame. I like wearing them with heels for some added height, but they also look great with sneakers.

The Way-High® Curve Jean in Ocean
Starting off 2025 with some spontaneous travel, I packed my suitcase in a hurry and opted for two pairs of Everlane’s Way-High Curve Jeans. I’ve sung their praises before, and I continue to be impressed by how they fit my bottom-heavy body. Finding pants that don’t cling to my thighs and hips can be a challenge, but these jeans make me feel amazing. They sit just around my belly button, which is perfect for me, and they’re comfortable enough to wear all day, even when working from home. If you have a pear shape, I highly recommend giving these jeans a try. They bring balance to my bottom half and make me feel fantastic.

The Way-High® Sailor Jean in Tint Blue ($38 final sale) and Deep Blue ($128) | Gray Tee (Sized down two sizes for a tight fit) | Tomato Tee
My favorite jeans used to be the lighter blue ones on the left until I discovered the Deep Blue version at Everlane. While I refrained from buying them at the store, I couldn’t resist getting them later on. These jeans have a high waist, a wide but not overly exaggerated leg, and a unique cuff detail at the bottom. They are incredibly comfortable and stretchy, yet they still hug and lift in all the right places. I sized down for a tighter fit, as I prefer a more fitted look. I’m extremely pleased with these jeans!
As a huge fan of Everlane jeans, I can confidently say that every pair I’ve owned has been a hit. The fits are impeccable, and the prices are reasonable. If you’re in LA, I highly recommend visiting the Venice location for a great shopping experience with friendly staff who go above and beyond. This is not a sponsored message – I genuinely believe Everlane jeans are fantastic.

I had my eye on Kaitlin’s barrel jeans because they look amazing on her and she raves about them being the best jeans ever. With Emily’s encouragement, I decided to give them a try…
