If I had to choose just one flea market to visit for the rest of my life, it would definitely be Downtown Modernism. The mid-century modern style of this market really speaks to my heart and my wallet. Although not everyone may share my enthusiasm for this market, it was a perfect day out with my friends Emily and Becca, along with Becca’s husband Jason and their adorable baby Sunny. We were all on the lookout for art pieces, and while I didn’t have a specific shopping list, I still managed to find some treasures and provide consulting services to my friends. It was a fulfilling morning indeed.

Although the photos may not be perfect, they capture the essence of the market. Downtown Modernism is a biannual event that showcases unique pieces, and it’s always a treat to explore. From funky bassinets to vintage decor, there’s something for everyone at this flea market.

As Becca and I perused the market, we made sure to involve Sunny in our quest for vintage decor, hoping to pass down our love for design to the younger generation. With a keen eye for special pieces, we explored various booths and discovered some amazing finds that caught our attention.

One of the first items that caught my eye was a 1937 Kurt Versen copper table lamp. Despite the steep price tag, I couldn’t resist its charm and unique design. It’s always exciting to stumble upon rare gems like this at flea markets.

Another highlight of the day was coming across some beautiful lamps that Emily and I both admired. Although we didn’t make a purchase, the intricate details and designs of these lamps left a lasting impression on us.

These chairs and the extra-wide chaise were also noteworthy finds that caught my attention. While I didn’t have room for them in my home, I couldn’t help but appreciate their style and craftsmanship.

One particular MCM gem that stood out to me was a unique chaise on wheels. Although not the most comfortable, its beauty and design were truly captivating.

Ceramics are another weakness of mine when it comes to decor, and I couldn’t resist admiring a cool plate/tray and a sound amplifier piece. The colors, textures, and details of these items were truly captivating.

While everyone was on the hunt for art, Becca and Jason found some amazing pieces that perfectly complemented their home decor. Their eye for unique and special items truly shone through in their selections.

Becca’s family also had a keen eye for art and decor, as evidenced by their thoughtful selections at the flea market. Their passion for design and style was evident in the pieces they chose to enhance their home.
