Tucker Field and Tanner Keith put on an outstanding performance to clinch victory in the Cinch #13 Gold Shootout at the San Antonio Super Sort. They sorted 40 head in a total of 219.93 seconds over four rounds to claim the championship title and a prize of $8,230.
Opting to compete together as a pick team, the duo showcased their skills in cattle work and consistency, setting themselves apart from the competition. With a flawless 10-head run in the final round, they solidified their lead and secured the win.

Reflecting on their performance, Keith commented, “We were fortunate to have good draws and maintained consistency throughout, achieving 10 successful runs each round. Once we completed the top 10 run, we knew the victory was within reach. No one could catch up to us.”
Keith, hailing from Austinville, Virginia, rode his reliable 2018 gelding, “Lucky” (Metallic Rebel x Aristocrats Rose), who has been his go-to mount for major events and previously led him to victory at the Cowtown Showdown with partner Joel Lesh.
Field, representing Granbury, Texas, partnered with Rio Rojo River Cat (Little Dulces Rey x A Smooth Closer), an experienced sorting horse that also excels in ranch work. The horse’s expertise and cow sense proved invaluable in the high-stakes shootout format.
For Field, riding alongside Keith added extra significance to the win. “It’s a privilege to ride with such a talented and esteemed rider, one of the best in the sport,” Field expressed.
