The guest cottage renovation has been a journey filled with surprises and challenges. Throughout the summer, the sound of construction echoed from the cottage, indicating progress was being made. Despite the unconventional approach of not having a general contractor and relying on various subcontractors, the results are starting to show. The kitchen floor has been completed, a restored window has been installed, and the next steps are becoming clearer.
The original floors were a disaster, with layers of laminate covering a damaged subfloor. After testing negative for asbestos, a decision was made to install new flooring over the existing one.
