I mentioned it, built up the anticipation, and even went as far as calling it “my favorite room in the house.” Today, you will get to see it for yourself and judge. While I absolutely adore the living room (coming soon), and I might give it that title too frequently, I effortlessly nailed this room with minimal effort (except for paneling the walls after a failed attempt with dark blue paint). Surprisingly, I feel like this room reflects my style more than my own home at times. My home has more of a traditional farmhouse vibe, which I adore, but this all-wood Scandinavian blue/green room has captured my heart.

This room was expertly designed by architect Anne Usher, who ensured beautiful light, large windows, and high ceilings. The room already had a winning architectural design thanks to her. Credit also goes to Stuga for the stunning Drift flooring we used on the walls, which completely transformed the space and won me over emotionally. It’s a room that I can see myself in for a long time.
The Walls

Wall Wood Paneling | Wood Flooring | Electric Piano | Artwork | Frames
All the walls are covered in Drift paneling from Stuga, installed horizontally. Switching from dark blue to wood paneling instantly added warmth and character to the room. The electric piano, encased in faux white oak, sits below a series of whimsical drawings by Bedeupree framed in Target frames.

Cabinet Paint Color | Glassware | 4 in a Row Game
The cabinets and shelving are painted in a soft taupe called Malabar, complementing the lighter tones of the wood. Inside, you’ll find their printer and home office essentials. Above, the shelves are styled with a mix of items, including books, artwork, and glassware. The room serves as a versatile space for games, chess, puzzles, and homework, conveniently located near the kitchen and living room.

The room is furnished with a rug from the previous collection, featuring tones of blues and greens. A dark table from AllModern and chairs from Soho Home add sophistication to the space. The green tweed Oscar sofa provides comfort and style. A statement chandelier from Blueprint Lighting adds drama and elegance to the high ceilings, while motorized shades from Decorview offer privacy and light control.

Faux Potted Plant | Entry Table (no longer available) | Blueprint Sconce
The room exudes a perfect balance of warmth and cool tones, creating a welcoming and serene environment. It may not be everyone’s style, but I take pride in how this room harmoniously blends simplicity with sophistication.
