Nearly eight years ago, Emily Henderson offered me a job as her new editorial director, changing my life forever. My husband and I were living in South Florida at the time, and the unexpected “welcome to the team!” email set off a whirlwind of logistics as we prepared to move cross-country to Los Angeles in just six weeks.
