Hello everyone and greetings from my North Carolina abode! In my previous update, I shared my thoughts on the design style I was leaning towards and some loose plans for my living spaces. As you may recall, I had already secured a stunning mustard velvet sofa. Since then, I’ve been busy adding pieces found on Facebook Marketplace, rearranging existing furniture and decor, reupholstering a chair, finalizing a rug choice, and assessing the overall look and feel of the space.
Although I can’t show you everything just yet, I wanted to share some ideas that have been floating around in my head. I’m considering adding wallpaper to the partial walls and coffered ceilings in my dining room to give it a more defined look. Additionally, I’m thinking about using peel-and-stick tiles to create a focal point on my fireplace wall. Let’s delve deeper into these concepts.
Before we proceed, let me give you a glimpse of my color palette. While I’ve incorporated mustard, light blue, and burgundy in various elements, I’m still on the lookout for another accent color to complete the look. The navy and mauve tones are present in my dining room rug and chair upholstery, but something feels amiss. I believe a touch of olive or khaki might be the missing piece.
Now, let’s take a closer look at how these colors are coming together in my living spaces through the rug and chair:
The dining room is slowly taking shape with the addition of a rug, pendant light, second-hand chairs, and a table. While the chairs await reupholstering, I’m contemplating the wall decor to guide my fabric selection. Here’s a sneak peek of the dining room:
