If you have a passion for colors like I do, get ready for a deep dive into the color trends of 2026 in interior design. Surprisingly, not much has changed since our last discussion on this topic. Millennial gray hasn’t made a comeback, cool whites are not dominating, and orange remains on the fringe. However, many of the shades that were popular last year are still trendy this year, with a few new surprises to add to the mix.

After consulting fashion trends, experts from WGSN and Pantone, and drawing from personal observations of designer work and retail offerings, I’ve identified seven colors that are making a significant impact on home decor. But before we delve into the colors, let’s take a moment to appreciate the sheer beauty that surrounds us daily. The plethora of stunning homes and rooms out there is truly awe-inspiring, and it’s essential to pause and marvel at the beauty that surrounds us.

Now, let’s explore some of the prominent color trends for 2026:

1. Ice Blue:
Ice blue continues to be a popular choice, offering a crisp, clear, frosty, and pale hue that serves as a refreshing contrast to deep, moody tones. This color adds a touch of color without overwhelming a space, as seen in designs by James Huniford and Kerv Interiors.

2. Teal:
Named “Transformative Teal” by WGSN, this bold color is a blend of blue and green, offering a dramatic yet sophisticated look. It pairs well with natural light and sheen surfaces, as showcased in designs by Bright Design Lab and Robert Stilin.

3. Amber (Burnt Caramel):
Amber, also known as burnt caramel, is a rich combination of rust, mustard, and brown tones. This earthy yet fashionable color is prevalent in bathroom designs, particularly in zellige tiles, as seen in works by Alisa MacConnell and Hugo Toro.

4. Chartreuse:
Chartreuse, an acid greenish yellow shade, has been gaining popularity, adding a vibrant and unexpected touch to interiors. This color is making waves in designs by Kendall Jenner’s home, Electric Bowery, and Cortney Bishop.

5. Burgundy/Oxblood:
Burgundy, oxblood, or maroon hues continue to be a favorite in both home and fashion design. This luxurious color adds a statement to any space, whether on walls, soft goods, or stone surfaces, as shown in designs by Electric Bowery and Dabito.

6. Plum:
Plum, a cooler-toned cousin of red or a warmer-toned cousin of purple, offers a playful and youthful alternative to oxblood. This color is impactful and rewarding when used correctly, as demonstrated in designs by Jase Sullivan and Zoe Feldman.

7. Khaki:
Khaki, a versatile and understated color, acts as a perfect companion to saturated shades in interior design. It combines elements of brown, cream, yellow, and green, adding depth and interest to any space. Heidi Caillier Design and Alice Grace showcase the versatility of khaki in various applications.

In conclusion, color trends for 2026 offer a diverse range of options to suit different tastes and preferences. Whether you prefer bold and vibrant hues or subtle and understated tones, there’s a color trend for everyone to explore and incorporate into their home decor.
