When it comes to the guest room, it often ends up being the place where leftover furniture finds a home. It’s a space where you can showcase items you love that may not fit anywhere else in your home. Our guest room has been a work in progress since we moved in close to four years ago. Although it’s not fully complete, there have been some exciting updates that I can’t wait to share with you.

Initially, the room was quite bare, with only a few pieces of leftover furniture and lamps. Despite its simplicity, the room had a cozy and inviting feel that our guests loved.

However, I decided to design a custom bed for the room, intending for it to be the centerpiece between the windows. The bed was upholstered in a lovely print by Rebecca Atwood, adding texture and a subtle pattern to the space. Originally meant for our bedroom, the bed ended up in the guest room temporarily due to unforeseen circumstances. After years of being in the wrong room, we finally moved it to its intended place.

The new bed has brought a fresh look to the room, although its size and height have posed some challenges in terms of space. Despite this, the bed adds a cozy touch that is perfect for guests. Additionally, I’ve incorporated a vintage wicker ghost table into the room, adding a quirky bed and breakfast vibe while maintaining functionality.

Above the bed, I’ve created a small gallery wall using pieces I already owned. While I initially felt that the art pieces were too small for the room, I decided to keep them for now. The wall adds a personal touch to the space, although I’m still considering alternative options to complement the bed better.
