Revisiting A 2013 Project, DesignLoveFest’s Apartment (+ What I Think About It Now)

In our quest for timelessness as we age, it’s always a delight to revisit the past and see how our youthful selves expressed creativity and style. Back in 2013, two “internet famous” bloggers collaborated on what now feels like vintage influencer content. Bri Emery’s apartment from that era still exudes vibrancy and personality, capturing the essence of a 2010s blogger time capsule. As a designer/stylist who worked with several influencers during that time, including Bri, I can’t help but appreciate the blend of trends, vintage pieces, and bold colors that defined that period.

Fast forward to 2025, and Bri Emery has transitioned into a new phase, rediscovering her creative spark and collaborating with old friends. Her evolution mirrors that of many bloggers from the 2010s who have embarked on new paths and found success in different endeavors. As we reflect on Bri’s 2013 apartment transformation, we’re reminded of the trends that dominated that era and how they have evolved over time.

Reflecting on the trends of 2013, we observe the dominance of bright white with pops of colors, whimsical plants in eclectic pots, and the influence of Palm Springs style mid-century vintage elements. While these trends may have defined the aesthetic of that period, they have since evolved to incorporate warmer neutrals, subtler tones, and a more balanced approach to styling.
