Tucker Field and Joel Lesh emerged victorious at the 2026 Cinch RSNC South Central Regional Super Sort, held in Waco, Texas. They secured the top spot in the Cinch #13 Gold Shootout by sorting 39 head in 204.74 seconds, earning a payout of $9,682.

Field and Lesh both had multiple wins at the event. Field, along with Brea Vardas, clinched the Laredo Conversions #10 for an additional $3,480. On the other hand, Lesh triumphed in the #14 Ranch Hand with Arielle Weeast for $1,884 and the Ride TV Western Heritage All Levels with Larry Newport for $2,238.

Their success in the high-stakes Cinch #13 Gold Shootout was particularly rewarding. Field, who has been sorting for nearly a decade, credited his horse ‘Big Boy’ for their recent achievements. Big Boy, a descendant of Dual Rey and Smooth As A Cat, not only excels in sorting but also assists in tasks like doctoring yearlings and participating in ranch rodeos.

During the competition, Field focused on improving his technique and smoothness in sorting, with Big Boy playing a crucial role in their victory. Lesh, who is allergic to alfalfa, sported gloves during the event to avoid any reactions.

Looking towards the future, Field aims to participate in various classes at the upcoming Cinch RSNC World Finals. Meanwhile, Lesh sees the growth of the sorting industry, fueled by events like the RSNC-exclusive Gold Shootouts, as a positive development that will elevate competition standards and increase the value of horses in the market.

Joel Lesh’s “Kahlua” is registered as Hot Baloo, a High Brow Cat and Peptoboonsmal granddaughter.
