Impressive Win for Casey Deary and Perfect On Ice
In a remarkable display of skill and partnership, Casey Deary and Perfect On Ice clinched victory at the $100,000 Open Shootout during the 2026 The Run For A Million event. Despite only being together for three weeks, the duo scored a remarkable 231.5, securing a well-deserved win and earning $29,154.60 for owner Amy Meadows. Their performance also earned them a coveted spot in the 2027 Million Dollar Competition.
Quick Partnership Formation
Deary’s collaboration with Perfect On Ice came together swiftly, with the decision made just a month before the prestigious event. Having minimal time to prepare, Deary relied on his past experience with the horse and the groundwork laid by Jack Medows. Despite the limited preparation time, Deary quickly grasped Perfect On Ice’s capabilities.

Deary’s admiration for the stallion was evident as he praised Perfect On Ice’s calm demeanor, graceful movement, and impressive stopping ability. Their score of 231.5 not only secured them the top position in a competitive field but also boosted Perfect On Ice’s lifetime earnings to over $81,000.
In addition to their winning performance, Deary also competed on King Arthur II, marking a score of 226 and finishing in the top eight.
Securing a Spot for the Future
The $100,000 Open Shootout was not just a prestigious class but also offered a chance to qualify for the 2027 Million Dollar Competition. Deary’s outstanding performance ensured his qualification for the next year’s event, alongside four other top riders.
Deary expressed his joy at earning a spot for the upcoming competition and looks forward to returning to Las Vegas in 2027 for another shot at glory.
