Kenny Platt and LBR Hangem achieved another victory at the Breeder’s Invitational in the Classic/Challenge Open on May 14, 2026, tying with James Payne and Jazlyn with a score of 228 and each earning $19,575.

Platt and LBR Hangem were declared the champions after officials used the five-judge cumulative score as a tiebreaker. Owned by Solo Select Horses, the Carpenter Farms, and Don Ham, Shotty’s lifetime earnings now stand at $481,838 according to QData.

For Platt, this win was further proof of Shotty’s elite consistency. He expressed his admiration for the horse’s abilities and the challenges of competing in such a tough field.

Platt highlighted Shotty’s standout season, including their dominant performance at the NCHA Super Stakes earlier in the year. This success solidified Shotty’s position as a top contender in the aged-event field.

In the competition, Platt and Shotty had an ideal draw position and relied on their feel and timing to guide their performance. Platt emphasized the importance of trust in Shotty’s abilities and how the horse makes anything possible.

As Shotty turns six, Platt acknowledged that their show career may be winding down. With increasing breeding demand for the stallion, Platt mentioned that this season could be their last major campaign together.

Platt also gave credit to Mia Perotti for her role in caring for and preparing Shotty for shows. The partnership between Platt and Shotty has been a successful one, and Platt expressed gratitude for the opportunity to show such a talented horse. manuscript to make it more concise and easier to understand.
