After two NRCHA-sanctioned futurities, including the NSHA Futurity in Las Vegas and the SRCHA Pre-Futurity in Fort Worth, some 3-year-olds are emerging as strong contenders for upcoming futurity shows, such as the NRCHA Snaffle Bit Futurity.
With results from SRCHA and NSHA in hand, The Performance Report analyzed individual point spreads and identified nine horses poised to achieve champion-level composite scores.
Grabbing Headlines: RBS Anniesugardaddy and Clayton Edsall win Second Futurity Title
RBS Anniesugardaddy, owned by Monty “Paul” and Carlee Miller and bred by the Rocking BS Ranch, has already secured victories in both the SRCHA and NSHA Pre-Futurities with trainer Clayton Edsall in the saddle.
At the NSHA Pre-Futurity, RBS Anniesugardaddy achieved a composite score of 661 with scores of 220.5 in herd work, 219.5 in reining, and 221 in cow work, earning $38,784 in winnings and bringing the gelding’s lifetime earnings to $59,591.
Consistency Kings and Queens
These horses may not have the highest scores, but they displayed the tightest grouping of scores across all three legs at the pre-futurities. Consistency is key when developing futurity horses, even though a high score in one event can boost a duo’s composite results.
